Sharing Shakespeare

Arts Ambassador Adelaide Skinner brought the world of theater to life for middle school students with her Sharing Shakespeare presentation.  Adelaide is natural leader and she created a fun and engaging workshop sharing theater basics and lots of fun facts about William Shakespeare. Her project served 60 students.  Adelaide was mentored by Mishele Mays and Sarah Lightfoot.

From Adelaide: “Being an Enspire Arts Ambassador really helped me see the other side of theatre, getting to organize, teach, and plan. It was definitely overwhelming at times and gave me a bigger appreciation for all of my teachers, directors, etc. It gave me the opportunity to practice communicating with a variety of people, receive feedback, workshop, and try and try again until something worked. I created an idea I liked, but also learned the barriers to achieving that, and got lots of advice from people who had worked with and grown ideas into something achievable. I feel like I’ve gained a lot of knowledge for any future projects I take on. Words cannot describe all of the advice and patience from all the incredible people who helped me plan my project through all of its ups and downs, and our incredibly busy schedules. Getting to see adults actively involved in the arts very successfully is inspiring for any youth wanting a career or life involved with the arts.”
