“A phenomenal performer and master storyteller” Oregon Arts Watch
Seth Moran: “I started playing violin when I was 8 and did exclusively classical music through college. Since then I’ve gone down additional musical paths, including singing in glee clubs & choirs, playing in a Zimbabwean marimba band, fiddling at contra dances, playing electric fiddle in a rock band, playing viola in the Camas/Washougal Community Orchestra, and, since 2008, I’ve been fiddling and singing and songwriting with the Vancouver (USA)-based bluegrass band “Fadin’ by 9.” About 10 years ago I started messing around with a looping pedal, my electric violin, and an ever-expanding set of guitar pedals. That messing around led to the writing of a number of original tunes. A favorite is “Alpenglow” which refers to that last glorious bit of sunshine that lights up mountaintops right as the sun is setting; it’s what I think about when I’m playing this piece.”
