WE ALL SHINE BRIGHTER TOGETHER
We are so pleased to have the opportunity to work with the students and teachers of Orchards Elementary. Our project, We All Shine Brighter Together, is a celebration of all that each student brings to add positively to the school community. Throughout our time at the school, we are weaving themes of safety and belonging throughout our programming.
Through school fundraising and additional support from iQ for Kids we have been able to provide this exciting program. Each K-5 class has received two expressive arts sessions with Sarah Lightfoot exploring appreciation for ourselves, each other, and the collective power of our individual positive traits. Each session was filled with a mix of mime, singing, games, rhythm, conversation, and art.
Each student, teacher, and staff member will be creating a star highlighting a personal positive quality. Thank you to Ms. Walton for cutting out 800+ stars!
All of these stars will be included in a stunning, permanent mural, designed and created by artist, Elle Benage (enliven murals). We’re so excited for the Orchards students and families to experience this interactive mural with stars shining bright in the hallway as the mural begins and follows through into the cafeteria to display a beautiful tree shining bright with vibrant color, flowing wind, and shining stars. We hope this mural will be a center of community and a symbol of belonging for years to come at Orchards Elementary.
